I miss these faces!

My sister Jenni and her kids are coming to visit me in one week! I sure miss seeing these guys all the time.

I don't miss this face. I get to see it everyday, but this is why I take so many pictures of my sisters kids.

Resolution

I've had a lot on my mind lately. I've been slipping deeper and deeper into complacency. I've been clutching to the lame excuse that I'm simply to busy to keep my life in order. I've made resolutions before to better organized and a better homemaker, but I never seem to stick it out. The difference this time is I actually WANT it for myself. Not because Rob deserves a better wife or because Robbie deserves a better mother, although both are true, but because I have noticed such a big difference in the way my life runs when I make small efforts to be a better wife and mother.
My Mom is such an example of the kind of mother that I want to be to my children. She isn't a great cook...actually, I take that back. She is an amazing cook, but she hates cooking. We didn't need elaborate dinners on the table or an immaculate house to know that she had it together. I hope that I can teach my family in the kind way that she taught me strong family values, self worth, and integrity.
My mom just had surgery on Monday morning to remove cancer tumors. Also, she ended up getting a portion of her bowel removed. She will be recovering in the hospital this week up in Salt Lake. I wish that I could be up there with her, but I know that she will be alright. I just hope she can still get all her Christmas shopping done from that hospital bed...ha ha just kidding mom!

Sofia Elizabeth Cloward

My sister Jenni had a baby last week. Since I have been with Jenni when she has given birth to her other kids, it was hard not to be right there. I really miss having her so close, but I'm sure she enjoyed the peace and quiet and didn't miss the inappropriate comments during labor. Sofia was born on November 3 and weighed 7lbs 10oz. Jenni had Sofia in the brand new Riverton hospital. Since they had only been open for three days they sent Sofia home with a very cute gift basket.

Happy Halloween

Robbie didn't love Halloween this year. He didn't want anything to do with his cute Lion costume, but I managed to keep it on him long enough to get a few quick pictures. This year we went to the Ivins City trunk or treat. There were a lot of cute kids dressed up, but hardly any cars actually giving out candy. I will definitely be going back next year and handing out candy. We normally trick or treat with my sister Jenni and her kids. It was sad not having them around this year, but they had a great time up in Salt Lake. I made Carter an octopus costume this year. Last year Jenni forgot to plan a costume for him and he ended up being a very lame mummy. I couldn't let that happen again this year. I will post a picture of Carter as soon as I get one. I can't wait for Robbie to dress up in the Octopus costume next year.

Robbie's Birthday Party

Robbie turned one a month ago, but I still haven't posted any pictures from his party. He had a blast opening present and eating cake. We had a zoo theme which was fun. I even made a bunch of animal cupcakes to go along with his giraffe cake and giraffe invitation. I still cant believe that he is a year old.

Thriller

Thriller was AWESOME this year. I really think this was my favorite version so far. Robbie really liked it. He danced along with the music, and clapped after all the dances. He didn't even get scared when the zombies came up to him.
P.S. Cynthia did an awesome job with the art work!

One Year Old!

Last week Robbie turned one year old. I can hardly believe that he is that old. This first year has flow by so quickly. It seems like I should still have a tiny baby. This year he has learned how to do so many things. He talks like crazy. His favorite words are Dad, Mama, Dog, Duck (his first word), Cat, Bug, Up. He even says What is that? or I want that.

Grass and Stairs

We have been working like crazy on our yard lately. We have reached two major milestones - Grass and stairs. That's right when visiting us you no longer have to maneuver the dreaded drive way. You can now walk up nice stairs. Maybe more people will come to visit now. The grass has made a big difference. I liken it to making your bed when you want your room to look clean. Our yard looks bigger and way more inviting.

Jeff is home

A couple of weeks ago Robs little brother Jeff came home from serving a mission in Brazil. We couldn't wait to have him home and now it is like he never left. He is such a cute uncle to Robbie. They get along so well. He is working at the Tuacahn box office with me and helping Rob out a lot with our yard. It is good to have him back!

San Diego Vacation

At the first of August Rob, Robbie and I took a much needed vacation to San Diego. We went with Robs brother Chris and his family. We got to go to sea world, the zoo, the beach, Padres games at Petco Park, and see Wicked! The list goes on and on. I was nervous to take Robbie on such a long trip, but he was so good.
The day we went to the beach was so fun. I put Robbie in the sand and he hated it! He kept touching it and then scowling. I finally had to put him on a towel so he didn't have to sit in it. When we first put him in the water he cried, but then Rob starting playing with him and it was alright after that.
Leslie and I left the boys and went to see Wicked. I have seen it three times now, and I just love it. This was the same cast I saw in SLC in May, except this time I saw the full cast. In SLC there were understudies playing the two main parts.
San Diego is such a pretty city. We got to drive around a lot and see downtown and it was a blast. Sometimes I wish I lived in a big city. They are so cool.

Best of Tuacahn Funnies...thus far

"There is a $5.00 handling PEE per event." - said by me

"So is the Wonderful Wednesday discount...is that on Wednesday?"

"What are you bathrooms like? Are they outhouses?"

"We got tickets for tonight, but my wife has diarrhea." - Gross

"Are there any nights that it doesn't cost to come?"

"I would like tickets for Footless."

"What time does Flash Dance start?"

"Are we supposed to bring our own seats?"

Just Pictures

Life has been crazy, but good. Little Rob is getting so big. He seriously does something new everyday. I can hardly keep up with him.

Wicked

The last weekend in April I went to see Wicked at the capitol theatre in Salt Lake City. Last year I went to see it in LA with some box office friends and loved it so much! I knew I had to see it when it came to Utah. Rob was unable to come because he had finals the next week and had to stay home and study. Luckily Stephanie was able to come instead. It was so great to have her. Glinda and Elphaba were both understudies for our performance. Elphaba was amazing, but I thought Glinda struggled with comedic timing. Fieryo was my all time favorite. He was amazing.
I am alreay planning when I can see it again.
When we were in Salt Lake I really wanted to ride Trax. Call me silly, but I had never been on public transportation and I really wanted the experience. So at 9:00pm we headed to a trax station in Sandy and rode all the way downtown to temple square. It was a pretty lonely ride, but fun. The temple was beautiful. When we went to get back on Trax to go back to Sandy the trains were all so crowded because the Jazz game had just ended. We could barely find a place to stand. As we were all standing for the long ride back to the hotel I couldn't help but say..."This is more what I had in mind." What a fun trip.

Bosco

A while back we had to say goodbye to a dear pet named Bosco. We had been turtle sitting for a year and a half for Rob's little brother Jeff. But Bosco needed a bigger home so we let him go in a pond. As you can tell from the video we were all really sad to see him go...especially Robbie. We visit him at the pond every once in a while but we haven't seen him since. I am sure he is still there swimming around making friends with the goldfish.

6 months and more

Time is going by so quickly with my little boy. I can't believe that he is already 6 months old. He can sit up for minutes at a time now and rolls all over the floor like he owns the place. He sits up best when he has something in his hands and mouth. When he looks to the side he tends to lose balance and fall over so I have to distract him with things like my cell phone. His favorite thing to do it pull a blanket or towel over his face and play peek a boo. We'll keep removing the blanket from his face and he laughs and pulls it back over his face. He has even started to pull the blanket down himself when you say things like "where is the baby?" I am so lucky to be a mother and I'm loving every minute of it.
I know its been forever since I've posted so I'm including pictures from his first food, first trip to Zion, and of course sitting up pictures.
