First picture with Santa

Rob and I took Robbie down to the mall for his first picture with Santa. I was expecting to stand in a long line, but it was really slow. We walked right up. Robbie is getting so big. It is so fun to get him laughing and smiling. He is such a happy baby.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving Rob and I went over to his parents house. It was especially fun because Nonnie and Nonno were visiting from California and they had never seen Robbie. Dinner was very nice and Grandma Knowlton was pretty well behaved. (Last year she started asking everyone about their weight at the dinner table...) I was in charge of making the pies. Rob and I made an apple pie and a banana cream pie. After dinner Rob ended up falling asleep on the floor with Robbie.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's back to work I go

I started back to work at Tuacahn this week. It was really nice to be home during the day with my new baby, and I was really nervious about coming back to work. I get to bring Robbie with me to work for a couple of hours a day, which has been so nice. If I have a meeting or get really busy I can just run the baby to my mom's house down the street. She is so great to help watch him. If I didn't have her there is no way I could be back to work. My mom (and dad and sister and grandma)is amazing.
I actually have been having a good time being back to work. I forgot that this place does have some really great perks. The people are awesome and I love being here with them. Plus Tuacahn puts on some really great shows and right now we are just in the process of puting the 2009 season together. The lineup of concerts for 09 is the best ever! I'm most excited for Julianne Hough and Brian Regan.
I miss my baby so much when I am not with him, but I am so glad that I have an opportunity to help provide for my family. Even though I cant wait until I get to stay home full time with my family, I am so blessed to have this job with good pay and great benifits (especially with the economy the way it is). It helps so much while we are trying to get Rob done with school. Well, back to work :)

Halloween

For Halloween Rob, Robbie, and I went to Trunk or Treat at the church by my sisters house. It has been a family tradition ever since her ward started doing trunk or treat a few years ago. All the family meets at the church and my Grandpa Gardner gets to pass out all the candy. The church is in Dixie Downs (and no offense to anyone who lives in Dixie Downs...I grew up there myself) boy do you see some strange people. This year Jenni didn't get Carter a costume and she didn't really think about what he was going to be until an hour before trunk or treating. We looked through he box of costumes and decided that he didn't want to be princess Aurora or Tinkerbell so we ended up wrapping him up in old cut up t-shirts and he was a mummy. He looked cute, but it was a pretty lame costume. Robbie got to dress up like a jack-o-lantern which was really just a bib, hat, and fun slippers. He didn't really get into his first Halloween very much. Maybe he will enjoy it more next year.

Wicked!!

Ever since I found out the Wicked was coming to Salt Lake on tour next year, I knew I had to get tickets. Well so did every other person in the whole wide world because it was sold out before they even went on sale. I found out the other day that Zions bank was doing a special pre-sale today. I went online and tried and tried to get tickets, but the site was not responding because of to much traffic. Luckily my mom passed on using the internet and just called the box office. After an hour of trying to get through we finally got a real person and 8 tickets to see Wicked in April. I cant wait! Earlier this year I went and saw it it LA with some friends. It was AMAZING. In fact we almost purchased tickets to see it again back to back. I'm super excited to see it again.

Three Weeks Old

I can not believe that Robbie is already three weeks old. He has already changed so much. He now weighs over 9lbs. The last three weeks being pregnant were the longest of my life, but the next three weeks were some of the fastest. At night he gets colicky and cries for a few hours, but other than that he has been such a good baby. He is really alert and so much fun to stare at.

Robert Wells Knowlton I, II, III, and IV

When we found out we were having a little boy, Rob really wanted to name him Robert Wells Knowlton, IV. He thinks it is a cool tradition and didn't want it to end with him. I understand that there might be times when it is confusing to have so many Roberts, but I also think it is very neat to be named after so many wonderful men. This picture is priceless. I hope we have many more pictures of the four of them.

Andrew's Blessing

This weekend Chris and Leslie came down to St. George to bless their baby. Andrew is such a cute baby. It was fun seeing how big he is..especially compared to Robbie. I think it will be so fun for Robbie to have a cousin so close in age, and I hope they become very good friends.

Baby Robbie

I really wanted to take some cute pictures of Robbie. I waited until he was good and asleep so that he would look like an angel, but as soon as i set him down he woke right up and started making funny faces. I guess he still looks like an angel.

Robert Wells Knowlton, IV

Robert Wells Knowlton was finally born on October 6th at 3:25 pm. He weighs in at 8lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long (although they joked in the delivery room he would lose an inch of that when the cone head went away). I was scheduled to be induced sometime between midnight and midnight on the 6th so I wasn't sure exactly how to prepare. Luckily they called me in at 6:30 am. (I found out when they moved me upstairs that some people being induced still hadn't been called at 6:30 pm.) After I got hooked up to the monitor they noticed I was already having some pretty good contractions on my own. Time flew by and by 3:00 I was ready to push out my baby boy. What a miracle he is. I think he looks more like Rob's side of the family but only time will tell. He is such a good baby, and we are so lucky to have him in our family.

Light at the end of the tunnel

I went into the Dr. yesterday and since I am over my due date they set up a time to induce labor. If I don't have little Robbie by Monday Oct. 6th then they will start me. I really wanted to go into labor myself, but if it doesn't happen by Monday I am more than happy to let them go in after him. I'll keep you all posted.

Sick of it...

When you first start out and you are looking at that stick you peed on you are feeling so much joy. As time rolls by, and you start throwing up and feeling sick all the time, you still smile and think of how cute the little baby will be. Then you start showing. You cant wait to put on that first maternity outfit and show the world you are expecting. However, after nine months you are so done with being pregnant that you really don't care how much it is going to hurt, how many people are going to be checking you out "down there", what else is going to come out when you push, or how many sleepless nights are ahead of you...you just are done. I am happy to say that I have reached that point. If I walk into one more store and have all the ladies say "oh my goodness you look so cute!" I think I will punch someone. But if you must see how cute the bump is...here are some pictures.

My Husband is a Super Hero

A few weeks ago we found out that our neighbors tree roots had grown into our sewer system. Rotor Rooter came out and diagnosed the problem and gave us a quote of about $2800.00 to fix the problem. Needless to say I was really discouraged. We decided to spend a few days at my moms house while we decided what to do. In the mean time Robbie started asking around and was encouraged that it was a project he could do himself. He started ripping the cement up out of our driveway to find the sewer line. After a few days of digging he found the root growing in at one of the seams and cut open the line to find a 4 foot root growing down the line. My husband is somewhat of a clean freak (I love you Robbie, but you are) so dealing with sewer line was not his idea of a good time. He got everything all cleaned out and the line replaced and now it is working like new. I am so impressed that he was able to complete a project like this with no prior plumbing experience, and while working on it only in his spare time. His hard work saved us about $2600.00. I am so lucky to have a husband that is such a hard worker. He is truly my super hero.

Tuacahn Funnies

My friend Cynthia gave me a great idea for a blog post. Here at the box office we keep a list of the "Funny" things people say on the phone. Sometimes with the things that go on around here I think we could have a reality show. Here are some of my favorites:

"Your total is $88.00." "Is that total the total total?"

"Do you cancel your show for heat?"

"What is considered the weekend?"

"If I give you my name can you look up where I sat last year?" sigh "Sure, you were on row J." "Oh! Well, I want to be on row F." (if you knew where you wanted to sit why did I have to look up last year? grr.)

"I was there a couple of years ago and saw the show NEVADA"

"Your total is $39.00." "What! We have to pay"

"You guys are getting so big I am going to start calling you Three-acahn."

"I'm going to have to put you on hold for a minute. A police officer is about to give me a ticket."

"I have a confirmation number for you." "Oh, well I am in the bathroom and don't have anything to write with."

"Row P is to close. I want something around row Q"

"We don't have show Aug. 18 - 21." "Nothing at all?" "No." "So Les Mis isn't playing that Tuesday?" "No." "So, you have no shows playing the night of the 19th?" "NO!"

I could really go on and on and on, but I will stop there. Just thinking about these special people makes me smile. I might have to post more of these later.

6 Months...a little late

I'm late posting my 6 month picture (I'm 6 months along as of July 1). I'm now in my third trimester and I keep wondering where time went. Things are going by so quickly! I'm going to have a new baby before you know it. Robbie and I arranged our baby room the other day and it is adorable. I will post pictures of that soon. I've quit working at the Day Spa and it has been very nice to have the extra time to get everything done. Oh yeah, this picture also shows my new hair cut. I got it cut a lot shorter. It has been so much nicer in the heat this summer.

Lake Powell

This weekend Robbie and I went to Lake Powell with some of my family. We had such a good time. We had a bunch of kids there and that made things really fun. Being 6 plus months pregnant I thought that I would be miserable the whole time, but I still had a blast. The days were a little overcast and windy at times so the heat wasn't unbearable. My ankles got really swollen (they do that even in St. George), but getting in the water helped out a lot with that. My cousin Renae fell while getting off the boat and broke her foot. They had to drive 3 hours to a hospital, but then she came back with a walking boot and was fine the rest of the trip. I would have to say that the best part was taking some time off from work and relaxing.

Robbie and I from the top of the houseboat. All of the kids on the boat already told me that I am missing a strap on my swimsuit - so you don't have to let me know.

Robbie on the tube with my niece Abbi and my cousin Ty. Abbi was scared to be riding with the big boys, but she did great.

Robbie knee boarding for the first time. He got up on the second try.

I guess there is one good thing about being pregnant and having to get up and pee 3 times a night. You don't miss out on great sunrises like this one.

Sad Day

Today isn't really a sad day. The sad day happened two weeks ago, but I am only blogging about it now. 2 years ago for our anniversary Robbie got me 2 green iguanas. He is so very romantic (apparently the pet store was having a sale 2 iguanas for $30.00). We named them Jack and Felipe and for a long time they were my only babies although I would never touch them. A couple of weeks ago Felipe started getting really sick and wouldn't eat anything. Robbie tried very hard to nurse him back to health, but he died. Now I only have one iguana. It was very sad to say goodbye to Felipe, but hopefully that means that Jack wont lay any more eggs.

Find Your Grail

Last night I went with some friends from the box office down to Las Vegas to see Spamalot. We have some Tuacahn friends that are performing in the show and we thought it would be fun to go and see them. Call me crazy but I have never seen any Monty Python movie. The show started off slow for me and I thought I was in for a long night, but after about 20 minutes I was laughing harder than I have in a long time. I loved everything about the show, and the music was hilarious. After the show we got to go back stage and see everything involved with the show. It is so different from our outdoor theatre. We didn't get home until 2:00 this morning so I am very tired, but I am glad that I went to see the show. What an experience.

Front Yard

Yesterday Robbie and his parents started working on our front yard. When we moved in it was a mess. They had some grass growing but the slope of the yard made it almost impossible to hold water so it was mostly dead grass and weeds. We are putting up two terraces to flatten out the yard and also some stairs so you don't have to hike the driveway when you come to see us. It doesn't look like much now but you will be amazed when it is finished. We will have the best looking yard on the street.

5 Months

I am about 5 months along today. I am glad that I am starting to show more. I still dont get very many people guessing that I am pregnant, but that is probably a good thing.

New hobby

I just bought a new digital camera. I am also going to be getting some photography books and taking a few classes if I have time. I am very excited to be learning more about photography and my camera. I love taking pictures, especially of my nieces and nephews and I cant wait to take pictures of my little baby. I took this picture the other night from my backyard while Robbie was pulling weeds.

I'm Sorry!

It has been way to long since I have posted anything on my blog. Quick update on life:
1. I'm pregnant! Robbie and I found on in January that we were expecting our first child. I have waited my whole life to be a mother and now it is happening and I couldn't be more excited. We are having a little boy...well I hope that he is little. Right now we are thinking about naming him Robert Wells Knowlton, IV or Quad Bob (QB for short). My mother in law is begging us not to name him that, but Robbie feels like it is a good tradition that should be carried along.
2. Still working at Tuacahn and things have been very very busy. I am in charge of the box office which includes selling almost 4 million dollars in ticket sales a year. Also I am in charge of group sales. I sell tickets to about 300 bus loads a year. On top of those two full time jobs I also am the receptionist for the Center for the Arts and that means personal secretary to the CEO and company. Needless to say that I have a lot of work to do in a little bit of time. However, this season is shaping up to be the best Tuacahn has ever seen and I am very glad to be a part of it.
3. I am still working as a massage therapist a couple of nights a week and on weekends. It is interesting doing massage while being pregnant. Although I am barely showing I still manage to bump my belly on things and get lotion on my shirt a lot. I think that I will continue to do massage until I am about 7 months along. I really like doing massage and the extra money is always a plus.
4. We are in the process of putting in our yard. The front yard is very sloped and the grass would never grow because of the slope. So Robbie and his dad have been carving into the dirt to put some terraces in and even out the yard. It has been a lot of hard work, but it will be worth it in the long run. The back yard is already level and has sprinklers so that will be easy to finish up. I am glad that I am pregnant and just get to watch the work being done.
That is my life in a nutshell. I am going to try and keep this updated so all of you can see pictures and hear about our life, but you must forgive me if I slip up every once in a while.

5K Baby

This past weekend Jenni and I ran our first 5K. The race started at the Dixie Center and when I got there I couldn't find Jenni anywhere. There were a ton of people all around, and she had my number. I was already nervious but that made it worse. Before the race started we pointed out everyone in the crowd that we thought we could beat. That helped calm my nerves. There were a few 6-10 year olds running the race. They pretty much all beat us. When we started we said that we would run the whole way no matter what. I felt really good as we got going even though it was pretty cold and we both finished pretty strong. Jenni and I both did very well. We ran the whole way and finished it in under 35 minutes. (16th in my age group):-) I feel like I have the running bug now. I cant wait until we run our next race.

Happy New Leaf

It is the time of year to make some resolutions. I have quite a few things that I need to do better, but I am going to try and write some of them down. You know what they say, a goal not written down in a wish.
Step one: Eat better. Of course this is a cookie cutter new years resolution, but it is important. I've been trying to incorporate more fruits and veggies into my diet, and less fat and junk food. Also I've been trying to make more meals at home, and bring a lunch to work.
Step two: Lose weight, Work out, Be healthily. Another cookie cutter resolution (I wont get points for being creative) Robbie and I just signed up for Gold Gym and I have discovered that Spin Class is kind of fun after you get past the "I-hate-my-life-I-am-going-to-die" part. Also Jenni and I are planning on running our first 5K in a few weeks.
Step three: Be a better person...I know, its pretty vague. This will include attending the temple once a month, reading my scriptures, paying my tithing on time, flossing my teeth, saying thank you more, not judging(as much:), you know...things like that.
I could go on and on with all the things I need to do better, but that would be depressing. I will start with a few of the basics and work from there.
